We are delighted that Victoria’s Auditor-General, Mr Des Pearson has agreed to speak at the first public forum on the theme of ‘Governance Hotspots’ in Victorian public services on 6th March 2012 at 5.30 at the University of Melbourne. Mr Pearson is Australia’s longest serving sitting Auditor-General and has had a public service career spanning four decades and three Australian jurisdictions. 
Each year, VAGO undertakes a rigorous programme of performance and financial audits of public sector bodies. Since 2009 the Office has interrogated this extensive evidence base to identify common weaknesses and problems in public service design and delivery across the public sector.
